Puna Fair
The Puna Livestock and Craft Fair in Antofagasta de la Sierra is an event that celebrates the identity, culture, and production of the Puna communities in Catamarca. Every year, producers, artisans, and entrepreneurs from the region gather to exhibit and sell typical products such as vicuña fiber textiles, ancestral ceramics, Andean foods, and agroecological products. A livestock competition is also held, where animals from remote areas of the department are selected and classified.
In addition to the craft and production fair, the event offers folkloric performances, demonstrations of traditional techniques, and gastronomic tastings that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the rich culture of the Puna. The fair is not only a space for commercial exchange but also a community gathering that reinforces a sense of belonging and the preservation of Andean customs in one of the province's most breathtaking landscapes.
