Feast of the Virgin of Valle

Our Lady of the Valley is the National Patron Saint of Tourism, and in Catamarca, her feast day is celebrated twice a year. Both occasions are moments of profound devotion and spiritual encounter:
Feast of the Immaculate Conception (December): This is the main celebration, held around December 8th, when thousands of faithful from all over the country come to Catamarca to pay homage to the "Dark-Skinned Virgin of the Valley." For a week, masses, novenas, and the moving procession with the image of the Virgin through the streets of San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca take place. It is a celebration that combines religious fervor, tradition, and a large popular turnout.

Feast of Our Lady of the Valley of Easter (Holy Week): This feast takes place around the second Sunday of Easter and is more intimate and spiritual. It coincides with the closing of the Holy Week celebrations, attracting pilgrims seeking to renew their faith in an atmosphere of reflection. It also includes masses, processions, and acts of veneration, with an emphasis on the Easter meaning of renewal and hope.
