La Cañada Dam

The Dique La Cañada reservoir, located about 6 km from Alijilán in the Santa Rosa department, is surrounded by the lush vegetation of the Yungas region, ideal for enjoying nature and outdoor activities such as fishing, kayaking, hiking, and zip-lining.

During the summer, it can be seen in its full splendor, as the excess water overflows its imposing dam after heavy rains exceed its maximum storage capacity, creating a magnificent waterfall about 20 meters high.

It is a popular spot for fishing, both from the shore and from boats. Activities such as kayaking and other water sports can also be enjoyed.

Recreational activities such as zip-lining and an aerial park have been developed in the dam area, especially during the summer season.
