The Adobe Route
The Adobe Route is a 55-km stretch of National Route 60 between the departmental capital and the city of Fiambalá.
It passes by chapels, old houses, and historical and prehistoric structures built with adobe, a mixture of mud, straw, and manure.
Most of these buildings have walls between 80 cm and 1 meter thick, some dating back 300 years.
Adobe has been, and continues to be, the building material used for these structures, providing coolness during the sweltering summers and warmth during the winter.
