Capillitas Mines

Currently, this site offers a breathtaking experience, as it has been adapted to provide access to various areas where mining activity took place, offering panoramic views of the vast county valley.
Muschaka was a mining complex that saw intense activity between 1902 and 1914, serving as the headquarters of a multinational company (Cooper Company) that smelted copper ore extracted from the hills of Minas Capillitas. Here, you can see the remains of old smelting furnaces, chimneys, slag heaps filled with tons of discarded slag, part of the impressive 33-km-long cable car, the old chapel, and other structures that bear witness to this flourishing activity and its significant impact on the regional economy.
