Shincal de Quimivil

In Londres, the second oldest city in the country, located along National Route 40, you can visit El Shincal, an Inca settlement nestled among mountains with relics covering an area of approximately one square kilometer.

This site, with a history spanning over 600 years, is the most important city in the southern Inca Empire. Archaeologists have identified it as a Guamani (provincial capital) of Tawantinsuyo (the Inca Empire) between 1380 and 1600 AD.

It is one of the most important archaeological sites in the country, located just 5 km from the main square of this small, ancient city in Catamarca province. It features an interpretation center, a dining area, trails, rest areas, and a permanent guided tour service.

Useful information:
* Entry to the site is only permitted with a guide.

* Every morning there are three visiting times: 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00. In the afternoon, visits are at 4:00, 5:30, and 6:30 p.m.
