The Janaxpacha Huasi Observatory, located in the municipality of Aconquija, in the department of Andalgalá, offers an unforgettable experience to its visitors. This attraction, situated in the Sierra de Narváez mountain range at 1,882 meters above sea level, offers guided talks and stargazing sessions at night, making it an unmissable opportunity to learn more about the sky and the constellations.
Nahuel Rigotti, a professional astrotourism guide and manager of the observatory, commented that "it's a beautiful place to enjoy and appreciate because it has a rich history." He also explained that they offer various activities for visitors. "One of them is guided talks about the night sky, using a laser pointer to explain everything you can see, the constellations, and the most important star groups. After the talk, we do the observations, and we also include virtual reality for children," he added.
Nahuel said that they also conduct solar observations through filters, observations during a full moon, astrophotography, and other activities. Janaxpacha Huasi, which means "House of the Sky" in Quechua, is open daily: from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM to tour the facilities and from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM to participate in talks and observation sessions. There is a suggested donation of $4,000 to enter. Those interested in this activity can contact 3834290612 to arrange a visit.
